Eleanor Johns

MMedSci, RCSLT, HCPC Speech and Language Therapist

Eleanor studied English Language with Linguistics at the University of Sheffield, taking a particular interest in language development. Following several years teaching English as a foreign language abroad, she decided to pursue a career in Speech and Language Therapy, completing the MMedSci course at the University of Sheffield, graduating in 2012.

Eleanor gained ten years of experience within the NHS, working in the acute, outpatient and community pathways. She specialised in stroke/neuro rehabilitation, developing her passion for supporting people to rebuild their communication skills. She also obtained her advanced certificate in dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). Eleanor loves working closely with clients, their families and other professionals, delivering evidence-based therapy and working towards personalised goals.

Eleanor is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.

Outside of Work:

Eleanor enjoys running and walking in the Peak District. She spends most weekends cheering on her children playing football and spending time with friends.
